Sky Sports Racing prepares to launch its first racing league

Sky Sports Racing preparing to launch the first racing league , revealing the "star" cast of on-screen talents.

To the lead team Alex Hammond, Josh Apiafi and Leonna Major will be joined by special guest speakers who will provide "unique information", including David Lloyd, Michael Holding and Rosie Tapner.

Streamed live and exclusively on Sky Sports Racing with updated graphics and production innovations, the brand new racing league will take place over six Thursday nights starting July 29 in Newcastle.

The racing league aims to bring "innovation to the sport" in the form of points and team competition with a £2 million prize pool.

“It is a great pleasure for us to work with the talent that Sky Sports Racing has at its disposal,” said Oli Harris , Marketing Director of the Racing League.

“In Alex, Josh and Leonn, we have three people who represent the essence of the Racing League. David Lloyd and Michael Holding are legends in the sports world and add something to our coverage that no one else could, and at Rosie we have one of the top young crossover talents. I'm sure the fans will really enjoy the show."

The Sky Sports Racing presentation team will be based in Newcastle, Doncaster, Lingfield and Windsor with unique access to jockeys, coaches and race managers to help convey all the tactics, rivalry and drama from the twelve team camps.

Each team will battle it out to win valuable points earned up to tenth place in each race and win a £150,000 team prize.
