The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has announced a new sponsorship agreement with the University of Malta.
The agreement was signed and sealed by Alfred Vella, Rector of the University of Malta, and Carl Brinkat, CEO of MGA.
Through sponsorship, guest lecturer Professor Andrew Narvold from the University of San Diego will deliver a series of lectures on game theory.
Game theory is essentially a theoretical framework that allows participants to interpret real social situations through games.
It can also model strategic interactions and has been used as a tool for advanced economics.
Prof. Vella said that increasing the level of knowledge beyond game theory will give local students the opportunity to apply mathematical methods to understand behavior and decisions.
He said: “We have a very important example of how university preparation and special education make it easier for students to make their way to careers and personal success, as well as help industry participants, and in this case the regulator, find the human resources they need to develop their leads. ultimately to economic benefits for our society. ”
Brinkat, meanwhile, believes the sponsorship will help Malta become a center of excellence, one of the MGA's regulatory goals.
Both sides have committed to more projects in the future for the benefit of local students and the gaming industry.
