EPIC Risk Management has appointed Dr. Donna Nicholas to the newly created position of Research Manager with immediate effect.
Nicholas previously worked in research for the UK cycling and cancer prevention charity Marie Curie.
In his new role, Nicholas will provide research and evaluation expertise to EPIC Risk Management's operational staff and develop effective research and evaluation strategies to support the company's broader strategic goals and objectives.
She will report to EPIC Risk Management COO Pete Wallis.
“EPIC has been leading innovative and efficient work across a wide range of sectors for several years,” said Wallis. “We are now at a stage in our growth where we feel we have the experience to make more strategic contributions to the broader gambling harm research agenda.
“The addition of Dr. Nicholas to our team is significant to us in this regard and we are delighted to be able to reach out to someone with her research knowledge and experience,” he added.
Earlier this month, a responsible gambling consultancy launched an online survey on harmful gambling terminology and online account management tools.
The survey targets those who have suffered gambling-related harm and those who provide professional support to those in recovery.
It will seek their opinion on the terminology they prefer and what (if any) types of online account management tools they think might be helpful in reducing harmful gambling behavior.
The purpose of the study is to help inform and develop EPIC's gambling prevention projects.
