CoinGeek: How Bitcoin Can Inform the Gambling Industry

In the second episode of "Hashing It Out" CoinGeek greeted Dr. Craig S. Wright , author of the Bitcoin White Paper, to discuss the origins of bitcoin and the benefits of bitcoin gambling in micropayments.

Who is this?

Becky Liggero , lead gaming reporter for CoinGeek

Dr. Craig S. Wright, Chief Scientist nChain

What do they say?

Discussing his background in auditing and finance, Wright began: “One of the things I've done at BDO is software development for Computer Aided Auditing Technology (CAAT), and part of what I've done with BDO is part of the concept. Bitcoin. I wanted a real-time auditing solution that was secure and I was looking for hash audit records for clients so that any changes could not be hidden or changed.

“Despite the fact that I was in Australia, we had many American clients who had to apply under Sarbanes-Oxley. What we were creating was a set of audit methods that would hash each of the valid ones and store them in real time, allowing the audit staff to look at things and see where the changes were, or view any changes.”

He added: “Unfortunately, not everyone liked what I did at the firm. Some people really liked it, and some partners thought that I would take the job because of the automation. I tried to explain that it gives them more time to do the real audit work, which is not looking at the paper, but advising the company on how best to set up controls.”

Why should I watch this?
