Betfair: Hosts attract more players for Euro 2020

As all of Europe is set to enjoy the championship after last year's COVID-19 postponement Europe 2020 , Betfair has launched a new podcast discussing the betting markets before each day of the tournament.

On the podcast every day to Kevin Hatchard rate analyst joins Mark O'Hare along with guest speakers, and the duo offer their opinion on every match, every day of the continental competition, which lasted a month.

O'Hair noted that bookies can expect customers to focus primarily on betting on home teams, although he added that this becomes obsolete when neutral venues are taken into account.

He remarked: “The home advantage is amazing, I'm really excited to see where the market goes with home teams Italy on Friday and then Russia and Denmark.

“The owners got a lot of money. As for Hungary, which has Budapest loaded on 100%, it will be really interesting to see if they start getting some money as they are a pretty significant underdog for this game and understandably so.”

Discussing the highly anticipated showdown between tournament favorites and 2018 World Cup winners France and regular European giants Germany, O'Khair noted that while Germany has the upper hand, the team is still an underdog in what is arguably one of the competition's biggest games. .

Continuing, he added that he expected the betting markets to be in France's favor because the team would be "the better of both sides", adding that market forces would likely favor France even more if Les Bleus played on a neutral ground.

“They have a lot of talent all over the field. In my opinion, this is probably the best or most balanced team in the Euro. In terms of defense, they are really strong, while the attack looks really dangerous and the midfield is both.

"It's really hard to look past France in this game, they've prepared very well for this tournament."
