Francis Ngannou joins Stake as latest ambassador

UFC Champion heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou became the last mixed martial arts fighter concluded partnership with the cryptocurrency betting operator Stake.com.

The fighter's sponsorship will be partially paid in cryptocurrency, a space he has been historically interested in from launching his own line of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) to his title fight against Stipe Miocic which brought in more than half a million dollars.

Ngannou, nicknamed “The Predator,” said he was “very excited about partnering with Stake.com,” commenting, “Since my NFT went down in March, I have been completely obsessed with the crypto space and very excited about it. to partner with the largest (and best) cryptocurrency betting platform in the world.”

The heavyweight became the second UFC champion to partner with Stake, following January 2021 middleweight title holder Israel Adesanya, who also signed a long-term partnership with the group. Additional ambassadors include Alexa Grasso and Marlon Vera, who joined in May.

Stake believes the new partnership will strengthen its "already strong position in the global UFC betting market", in addition to retaining the rights to live stream all of the promotion's fights through its platform.

Along with closing deals with individual UFC fighters, Stake is also the official betting partner of the international MMA promotion organization.

Describing his team as "grassroots UFC enthusiasts," the operator partnered with the UFC in March this year, cementing its position as the tournament's official sponsor in both Asia and Latin America, with the exception of Brazil.

Stake is one of the most well-known cryptocurrency betting firms, having processed over 45 billion bets since its launch in 2017, offering both sports betting and casino products.
