What do they say?
Calling Florida "the big fish," Candy asked Gouker for an update on the legal sports betting situation in the Sunshine State.
Hooker remarked, “It depends who you're talking to, good news or bad news. Florida sports betting was passed by the legislature this week in a special session called to discuss the Seminole Nation's Gaming Agreement and other issues related to gambling in the state.
“To the best of our knowledge, this legalizes betting and sports betting in the state, which sounds like a cause for celebration, and we usually do, but there are even more issues when it comes to betting in Florida.
“There are speed bumps in Florida or serious things can get in the way of sports betting so first of all it is a federal agreement with a tribe in the state this has to go through federal approval and a lot of people think it will be impossible down that sports betting will not be treated as part of this treaty, which will bring us back to square one.”
